Welcome to the laboratory dedicated to spatial analyses within the Pole in Environmental Sciences at the University of Geneva, under both the Climatic Change and Climate Impacts group and the new Forel Institute.
The laboratory aims at promoting interdisciplinary research based on spatially explicit information and indicators on the present and future state of our changing and complex environment. EnviroSPACE is working in close collaboration with the teams at UNEP/GRID and the InfoGEO laboratory within the Geography department. These teams are building together a Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) and are collaborating in various projects. The challenge is clearly to fill the gap between scientific information on one hand and decision making on the other hand, in order to improve the sustainable management of our unique and fragile environment. |
