EMTECH will specifically groups not currently present in the Framework Programme and focus on topical sub-areas such as the automotive industries. EMTECH will increase our understanding of the SME potential in the area by analysing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The EMTECH method is based on dynamically expanding a network of project participants to quickly reach critical mass in Europe. It will base its specific activities on a careful analysis of the situation and on input from additional experts. Thus the project will be acting as a catalyst for improving the co-operation of SMEs with both industry and academia. The project will also create additional visibility and impact for running projects in creating and supporting relevant PR so as to facilitate the dissemination, transfer, and exploitation of past and present programme results. EMTECH will further the participation of SMEs in Embedded Systems research and technology development projects at a European level. It will promote improved tools for partner search in this field and generally increase the understanding of SMEs in this area. As a side effect, EMTECH will improve the visibility of research activities, PR and public understanding of ES RTD together with significant gains in technology diffusion and promotion of research results to a wider audience.
